I'm sorry to hear that your dog is experiencing issues with her eyes. Swelling and tearing can indeed be concerning, particularly if they are affecting her vision. There are a few possibilities and steps you might consider.

Firstly, the swelling and tearing could be due to a variety of causes, such as an infection, an allergy, or an injury. It's also possible that a foreign object or irritant is causing her discomfort.

At home, you can gently clean the area around her eyes with a damp, soft cloth to help remove any discharge. Additionally, try to ensure that her environment is free from dust and allergens, which could exacerbate the issue.

It's important to monitor her closely for any changes in behavior or additional symptoms, such as increased redness, more discharge, or signs that she might be in pain.

Given that the swelling is significant and affecting her vision, I would strongly recommend consulting a veterinarian. They will be able to provide a proper diagnosis and treatment plan, which might include medication to reduce the swelling and address any underlying issues.

If you have any further questions or need more assistance, please feel free to reach out. Thank you.

I really want to get her to vet but I don't have any money to pay for the appointment. She recently drank out of puddle of water that could have been contaminated with urine a feces and rain water algee mud can this be the reason for her eyes doing this? Do you have any suggestions until I'm able to get her into vet. I've tried cold compress to reduce swelling i gave her a benedryl but they haven't gone down.

I'm sorry to hear about your pet's situation. Drinking from contaminated water can sometimes lead to infections or irritations, which might be contributing to her eye issues.

Firstly, continue gently cleaning her eyes with a damp, soft cloth. You can use a saline solution, like the kind used for contact lenses, to rinse her eyes and help remove any irritants.
Applying a cold compress can also help with swelling. Just ensure it's not too cold and apply it gently for short periods.

It's also important to ensure she stays hydrated and is eating well, as this supports her immune system. Keep an eye on any changes in her condition, such as increased redness, discharge, or signs of pain.

Lastly, consider reaching out to local animal shelters or veterinary schools that might offer low-cost or free services. Some organizations provide financial assistance for veterinary care.
