Bear has bad allergies and seems like when winter set in they become worse. He's lost all his face hair and patches on his back. Last week both eyes went cloudy. We brought him inside, scared he would get hurt not being able to see. Well not sure if anything we've done helped but he now has vision in 1 eye. Pretty sure the other one is gone. His skin is very dry. His back is getting a little better with different soaps we have tried to give him baths in. And we have tried different dog treats that help with skin. But his poor face is horrible. Our vet near us loves seeing our other dogs but bear they never helps us with because he is a mixed dog and they say it's harder to diagnos mixed. Just need help with his face and him scratching his self til he bleads

I'm sorry to hear that Bear is having such a tough time. It sounds like he might be dealing with skin allergies and possibly other underlying issues. Let's go through some steps that could help him feel better.

First, it's important to keep Bear's skin moisturized. Using a hypoallergenic, moisturizing dog shampoo and conditioner can be beneficial. Products that are oatmeal-based can be particularly soothing for dry, itchy skin. However, try to avoid frequent baths, as they can actually dry out his skin even more.

Next, consider adding dietary supplements to his routine. Omega-3 fatty acids, which are found in fish oil supplements, can improve skin health and reduce inflammation. Just be sure to choose a product that's specifically formulated for dogs.

Since Bear's allergies seem to worsen during the winter months, it might be a good idea to consult with your veterinarian about allergy testing or medications that could help manage his symptoms more effectively.

Regarding his eye, since one has shown improvement, continue to monitor it closely. Keep the area clean and consult your vet for any specific treatments that might be necessary.

To prevent Bear from scratching himself until he bleeds, you might want to use an Elizabethan collar temporarily. This can help his skin heal without further irritation.

If you feel that your current vet isn't able to provide the assistance Bear needs, it could be worthwhile to seek a second opinion from another veterinarian, especially one with experience in mixed breeds or dermatological issues.

Bear's symptoms, particularly the eye cloudiness and severe skin issues, could indicate a more complex condition that requires professional evaluation. If you notice any worsening or new symptoms, it's crucial to seek veterinary care promptly.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you for taking such good care of Bear.
