My dog just pooped and I noticed there is a black tinge on some of it and that speck of something. I started this supplement about 2 weeks ago. I just want to know if this is something I should worry about or if it might just be from the supplement?

It sounds like you're noticing some black tinges in your dog's stool, which can sometimes be a sign of digested blood and might warrant some attention. However, it's also possible that this change is related to dietary adjustments, such as introducing a new supplement. The supplement you mentioned contains omega fatty acids, which typically shouldn't cause black stools, but it's important to remember that individual reactions can vary.
Here are a few things you might want to consider:
Firstly, keep an eye on your dog for any additional symptoms like discomfort, vomiting, diarrhea, or any changes in behavior. If you notice any of these, it would be wise to consult your veterinarian.
Secondly, double-check that the supplement is being administered in the correct dosage, as over-supplementation can sometimes lead to digestive issues.
Additionally, think about whether there have been any other changes in your dog's diet that could be contributing to this change in stool color.
Lastly, observe the consistency of the stool. If the black tinge persists or if the stool becomes tarry, it would be prudent to seek veterinary advice, as this could indicate gastrointestinal bleeding.
If the black tinge continues or if you notice any other concerning symptoms, it would be best to consult with your veterinarian to rule out any serious issues. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out. Thank you.
