When head is up either laying down, sitting standing, his head shakes back and forth, like his equilibrium is off. He started spasming and I was afraid he was going to start seizuring so I made him lay down. There was a couple more spasms, but that's it. His head slowly wobbles.

It sounds like your dog is experiencing some concerning symptoms related to his balance and coordination. The head shaking and wobbling, along with the spasms, could indicate a neurological issue or an inner ear problem, such as vestibular disease. These symptoms can sometimes be associated with infections, inflammation, or other underlying conditions affecting the nervous system or inner ear.

Given the severity of the symptoms, especially the spasms and the potential for seizures, it's important to seek veterinary care as soon as possible. A veterinarian can perform a thorough examination and possibly recommend diagnostic tests like blood work or imaging to determine the underlying cause. Early intervention can be crucial in managing the symptoms and preventing further complications.

In the meantime, try to keep your dog calm and in a safe environment to prevent injury. Avoid sudden movements or loud noises that might startle him. If he seems disoriented, help him navigate his surroundings to avoid bumping into objects.

Please make arrangements to visit a veterinarian promptly to ensure your dog receives the appropriate care. If you have any further questions please ask us. Thank you.
