I was sweeping out our garage & she found a tiny piece of rat poison. I grabbed her up & it fell out of her mouth but I’m still concerned

I completely understand your concern about your dog potentially being exposed to rat poison, as it can indeed be very dangerous. Even if your dog hasn't ingested a large amount, it's crucial to act swiftly.
Firstly, I recommend contacting your veterinarian or an emergency animal clinic right away. They can offer guidance tailored to the specific type of poison involved, as well as your dog's size and overall health.
In the meantime, keep a close eye on your dog for any signs of poisoning. Symptoms to watch for include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, difficulty breathing, or any unusual bleeding. It's important to note that these symptoms might not appear immediately, so continuous monitoring is essential.
To prevent any future incidents, make sure that all poisons and harmful substances are securely stored out of your pet's reach.
Given the potential seriousness of the situation, having your dog checked by a professional as soon as possible is the best course of action. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you.
