she has been very whiny and gets very clingy. I cannot figure out it’s something to do with her going into heat? I don’t know she chews on blankets and she has it you see in the video she can’t sit still she’s restless and she looks all around. It’s almost like a seizure in a way? She has had a couple of those seizure like tendencies where she was almost flopping like a fish, I can’t figure it out. I don’t know what to do for and it’s getting worse and worse as time goes on. It’s getting to be more frequent and I don’t know if getting her fixed will help but she was having a problem with her anal gland not expressing itself so I have to take her every two weeks to have that done. I thought that was what was the problem but I am starting to wonder if it’s something else

It sounds like your dachshund is going through some troubling symptoms, and I understand your concern. The behaviors you're observing, such as being whiny, clingy, restless, and displaying seizure-like tendencies, could point to a few different issues.

Firstly, if your dachshund is not spayed, her behavior might be linked to her heat cycle. Dogs in heat often become more clingy and restless, although the seizure-like activity you're noticing is not typical of a heat cycle.

Secondly, the flopping and seizure-like tendencies are indeed worrisome and could suggest a neurological issue. Seizures can arise from various causes, including epilepsy, exposure to toxins, or metabolic disorders.

While anal gland issues can cause discomfort and lead to behavioral changes, they are unlikely to result in seizure-like symptoms.

Given the severity and frequency of these symptoms, I strongly recommend that you seek immediate veterinary attention. A veterinarian will be able to conduct a thorough examination and possibly run diagnostic tests to identify the underlying cause. It's crucial to address this promptly, especially since the symptoms appear to be worsening.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out. Thank you.
