It sounds like your cat is showing some common symptoms that are often associated with an upper respiratory infection, commonly known as "cat flu." The sneezing, eye discharge, and lethargy you're noticing are typical signs of this condition. It's reassuring to hear that his appetite is still good, as that's a positive indicator.

Cat flu can be caused by several viruses and bacteria, with feline herpesvirus and calicivirus being the most frequent causes. While these infections are usually self-limiting, there are some supportive care measures you can take at home to help your cat feel more comfortable until your vet appointment.

Firstly, it's important to keep your cat's eyes clean. You can gently wipe away any discharge using a soft, damp cloth, making sure to use a separate cloth for each eye to prevent spreading any potential infection.

Additionally, using a humidifier in the room where your cat spends most of his time can help ease respiratory symptoms by keeping the air moist. Encouraging your cat to rest in a quiet, comfortable place is also beneficial, as reducing stress and allowing him to rest can aid in his recovery.

Keep a close watch on his symptoms, particularly if they worsen or if he starts having difficulty breathing or shows a significant decrease in appetite. Since you already have a vet appointment scheduled, it's a great opportunity to discuss these symptoms with your veterinarian. They will be able to provide a thorough examination and determine if any specific treatment is necessary.
