Yesterday on a walk we believe she ate a few bites of something outside. Potentially other animal poop or a different dead animal or something. And we believe she threw up in the night, and has thrown up twice today. She is also very lethargic and not even putting her head up when the door opens.

It sounds like your Labrador retriever might have ingested something that's causing her some distress. When a dog vomits yellow bile, it often suggests an empty stomach or irritation in the stomach lining. Considering her symptoms of lethargy, loss of appetite, and unpleasant breath, it's possible she might have consumed something toxic or irritating, like animal feces or a dead animal, which could lead to gastrointestinal upset or even an infection.

Here are a few steps you can take at home to help her:

Firstly, it's a good idea to withhold food for about 12 to 24 hours. This gives her stomach a chance to settle. However, ensure she has access to fresh water to prevent dehydration. It's also important to monitor her for any signs of dehydration, such as dry gums or skin that doesn't quickly return to place when pinched. Encourage her to drink small amounts of water frequently.

Make sure she has a quiet and comfortable place to rest, and try to limit her activity to help her recover. Keep a close eye on her for any additional symptoms, such as persistent vomiting, diarrhea, or signs of pain.

After the fasting period, you can reintroduce food gradually. Start with a bland diet, like boiled chicken and rice, and offer it in small, frequent meals.

If her condition doesn't improve or if you notice any worsening symptoms, such as continuous vomiting, severe lethargy, or signs of pain, it would be wise to seek veterinary care. These symptoms could indicate a more serious issue that requires professional attention.
