This is a 7-year-old male Russian Blue cat. He vomited on January 28 and again on January 31. The vomit is bright yellow. We changed his food on January 24. Could it be related? Previously, he was eating Hill's Science(science diet indoor adult 7+), but now he is eating Nutrena Bistro. Since the evening of the 24th, we have been mixing the two products.

It sounds like the recent change in your cat's diet might be contributing to the vomiting. When introducing new food, it's crucial to do so gradually to help your cat's digestive system adjust. You've already started mixing the two foods, which is a great first step, but some cats may still experience a bit of digestive upset during this transition.

To help your cat adjust more smoothly, you might consider a few strategies. First, continue mixing the old and new food, but try increasing the proportion of the old food while slightly decreasing the new food. Then, gradually increase the new food over a longer period, such as 7 to 10 days.

It's also important to monitor your cat for any additional symptoms like lethargy, diarrhea, or a decrease in appetite. If you notice any of these, it might be best to revert to the old food and consult with your veterinarian.

Ensuring your cat stays hydrated is also key, as vomiting can lead to dehydration. You might want to offer wet food or add a bit of water to their dry food to help increase fluid intake.

Additionally, observe your cat's eating habits to make sure they're eating slowly and not overeating, as this can also lead to vomiting.

Since the vomiting is not constant, it may not be an immediate concern, but if it persists or other symptoms develop, consulting with a veterinarian would be a wise step to rule out any underlying issues.
