I have a litter of puppies and after I fed them breakfast two of them have started to look very very sick.
It sounds like you're facing a concerning situation with your puppies, and I understand how worrying that can be. Vomiting in young puppies can stem from various causes, such as dietary indiscretion, infections, or even parasites. The fact that the vomiting is clear and liquid might suggest that their stomachs are empty, which can occur if they vomit shortly after eating or haven't eaten much at all.
Given that the puppies are also showing signs of lethargy and behavioral changes, it's crucial to monitor them closely. Here are a few steps you can take at home to help them:
Firstly, ensure that the puppies remain hydrated. Offer them small amounts of water frequently, as dehydration can quickly become a serious issue in young puppies.
Next, consider temporarily withholding solid food for a few hours to allow their stomachs to settle. After this period, you can try offering a bland diet, such as boiled chicken and rice, in small amounts to see if they can keep it down.
Additionally, make sure they are warm and comfortable, as puppies can become cold easily, especially when they're not feeling well.
Keep a close eye on their behavior and watch for any additional symptoms, such as diarrhea or further vomiting.
Since these symptoms have persisted for a day and involve more than one puppy, it would be wise to have them checked by a veterinarian if they do not improve quickly. Puppies are particularly vulnerable to dehydration and infections, and a vet can provide the necessary care and treatment.
If you have any further questions or need more guidance, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
