It sounds like Jackson might be having a reaction to ingesting the topical flea and tick medication. These products are meant for external use only and can be harmful if swallowed. The symptoms you're noticing, such as excessive drooling, unusual behavior, and the smell of the medication from his mouth, are indeed concerning and could suggest a toxic reaction.

Here's what you can do right away:

First, ensure that Jackson doesn't ingest any more of the medication. Check his fur to make sure there's no residue left that he could lick off. If you find any, gently wash the area with mild soap and water to remove it.

Next, keep a close watch on Jackson for any worsening symptoms. Look out for signs like vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, or difficulty breathing.

Most importantly, seek immediate veterinary care. Given the seriousness of the symptoms and the potential toxicity of the medication, it's vital to contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary clinic as soon as possible. They can provide the necessary treatments to counteract the effects and ensure Jackson's safety.

Acting quickly in situations like this is crucial to prevent serious complications. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you.
