Paco has been chewing/ licking is back paws only . It’s now become red and starting to look swollen

It sounds like Paco's paw licking and redness could be attributed to a few different factors, such as allergies, irritants, or possibly a mild infection. Given that this issue has persisted for six weeks and the paw is now swollen, it's crucial to take some steps to address it.
To start, you might want to gently clean Paco's paws using a mild, pet-safe antiseptic solution. This can help remove any potential irritants. Additionally, to prevent further licking—which could exacerbate the condition—consider using an Elizabethan collar, commonly known as a cone.
It's also worth reflecting on any recent changes in Paco's diet or environment that might have triggered an allergic reaction. If you suspect this could be the case, identifying and removing the allergen could be beneficial.
Applying a pet-safe paw balm can help soothe the affected area. Just make sure the balm is non-toxic, in case Paco decides to lick it.
Lastly, keep a close watch on the swelling and redness. If you notice that it worsens or doesn't show signs of improvement, it would be wise to schedule a visit with your veterinarian to rule out any infections or other underlying issues.
