It sounds like Coco might be experiencing some discomfort related to her digestive system, especially with the redness and swelling around her anus and the fact that she hasn't had a bowel movement in a couple of days. This could be due to constipation, possibly linked to the recent change in her diet. Here are a few steps you can take at home to help her:
First, make sure Coco is drinking plenty of water, as proper hydration can help soften stools and promote bowel movements. Since you've recently changed her formula and introduced wet food, it might be beneficial to revert to her previous diet temporarily to see if that alleviates her symptoms. Puppies can sometimes experience digestive issues with sudden dietary changes.
You might also try gently massaging her abdomen in a circular motion to stimulate her digestive system. Be sure to do this gently and watch for any signs of discomfort or pain. Additionally, applying a warm, damp cloth to the swollen area can provide some relief and may help reduce the swelling.
Keep a close eye on her condition. If she still doesn't have a bowel movement or if the swelling and redness worsen, it would be wise to consult a veterinarian. They can offer specific treatments or check for any underlying issues.
If Coco's condition doesn't improve or if she shows signs of pain, lethargy, or any other concerning symptoms, it's important to seek veterinary care to ensure she receives the appropriate treatment. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions. Thank you.
